Top Vacation Spots in the United States

If your looking for the top vacation spots in the united states, you'll generally find that they are located near the coasts. There are literally hundreds of places to choose from, but here are some of the top places that I have been to.

New Jersey beaches

New jersey has some of the finest beaches on the east coast of the united states. From the north eastern tip of Sandy hook, with old military forts and majestic views of the Manhattan skyline to the pizza filled aroma of Seaside heights, there are plenty of beaches to choose from to take your family. One place I recommend is Wildwood where there are two boardwalks filled with rides and games for your kids and loved ones. You can find literally hundreds of low cost hotels and motels to choose from, and most are located just a short walk from all the attractions.

Naples, Florida

Naples Florida is located on the southwestern edge of the florida coast. With world renowned architecture and old style building design, there is plenty of things for you to do in Naples. One leading attraction of this vacation destination is 5th ave district, where you can shop at some of the finest stores in Florida. In the spring, the weather is perfect and you can watch the sunset from the famous 2nd ave. pier. Every sunset is more majestic then the last, and you'll be sure to enjoy plenty of night time activities as well.

Top spots in San Diego, California

San Diego has been widely regarded as one of the top vacation spots in the United States. With its warm weather year round, and wide variety of activities from sea world to amusement parks, its sure to be a winner with your whole family. Another major attraction you can visit is the San Diego zoo. Some of the highlights of the zoo include the flamingo lagoon, the polar bear plunge and elephant mesa. Parking at the zoo is relatively cheap and there are a wide variety of restaurants to choose from.

Fun in New York city

By far one of the top vacation spots in the U.S. Would have to be New York City. There is so much to do in New York that its hard to list everything. You could visit the Statue of liberty, take a ride on a speedboat, or view the city from the air with a helicopter tour. You can find virtually any type of cuisine out there, at any time of the day or night, and be able to do almost anything your heart desires.

If you really want to find great vacation spots, check out our growing list of cheap vacation spots in the United States, which is updated regularly.

The Top 5 Beautiful Places In Singapore

Have you ever wondered if there's a garden paradise on the face of this earth? Well, you'll be glad to know that there is such a place in Singapore!

Singapore is a garden city and if you come here, I can guarantee that you will find it a home away from home, a city of lush beautiful greenery amid modern skyscrapers. I'm constantly amazed by the beauty of this little island city and I'm sure you will too.

This article will show you the top 5 beautiful places in Singapore which you should visit the next time you're in Singapore. Remember, no visit is complete if you don't check out the places mentioned here.

1. Sentosa

The first beautiful place I have in mind is Sentosa. If you like the sun, sand and beach and perhaps theme parks and good food, then Sentosa is a dream place for you.

I know you sometimes might love to let the kids or young ones frolick in the sand - there's no better place than Sentosa. Go to Siloso beach for the best beach experience in Singapore.

2. Boat Quay

The next thing I'd like to mention to you is Boat Quay. Now, I know that sometimes you might want to get a drink or two late at night - well, Boat Quay is right up your alley. Boasting some of the most popular pubs and clubs in the island nation, Boat is definitely one of the top 5 beautiful places in Singapore - particularly at night.

3. Botanic Gardens

Ok, what's the next place you ask? Have you ever wanted a stroll through beautiful Southeast Asian flora? Well, the Botanic Gardens, next in our list of beautiful places in Singapore, is a perfect match for you.

Inside, you will see all manner of trees, shrubs and flowers known to Singapore and the region. I know that if you love flowers, the Botanic Gardens is a must-visit.

4. Marina Bay

I've always known people who love to stay near the bay area. Well, Singapore has its own bay - Marina Bay - all set to be world famous in 2010 when the Integrated Resorts open.

If you are thinking of settling down in Singapore and buying a place, then check out the properties along the Marina Bay. They are, of course, the most expensive parcels of land in Singapore - so bring like, two million Singapore dollars before you choose a unit, ok?

5. Orchard Road

If you love shopping (and heck I know you do), the Orchard Road shopping district will be a 'beautiful place' in Singapore. All manner of shopping centres (e.g. Takashimaya, The Paragon, The Heeren, Centrepoint) exist along Orchard Road and is a definite haven for shopping addicts. Now don't overspend here ok? You still need some money for the plane home ...

Conclusion

Well! I hope the article has shown you some of the most beautiful places in Singapore. I know that time can be short for you when visiting Singapore - so it might be a good idea to pack in the above sights into your itinerary if possible. Happy travels!

Top 5 Beaches in Southern California

Southern California is known for having the best climate in the country, with beautiful beaches to match. San Diego is a popular vacation destination because of its many attractions, as well as a wide variety of beaches along the coast. Whether you like to sunbathe or surf, California certainly has a beach for you.

Coronado Municipal Beach: People from all over the country flock to Coronado's white and gleaming shores throughout the year. The long stretch of beach is rarely crowded due to its size, and there is even a dog beach at the northern end of the island. Famed Hotel del Coronado abuts the sand, while quaint Coronado Village is only a few short blocks away. There is generally ample street parking, and if you are lucky you might even see dolphins frolicking in the waves offshore.

Pacific Beach: For those of you who enjoy a livelier scene, Pacific Beach might be the place for you. There are plenty of bars and restaurants along the main streets of Grand and Garnet, as well as a great spot for fishing on the end of Crystal Pier. Plenty of people enjoy biking, jogging, and skating along the cement boardwalk down the to Mission Beach Jetty at the end of the peninsula.

La Jolla Shores Cove: If you are looking for a beautiful view, La Jolla is the place to go. There are plenty of different beach spots in La Jolla, but the Cove is a place you simply cannot miss. There is a spot for kayaking, snorkeling, and shallow diving, as well as a grassy knoll for picnics, and room to lie out in the sand.

Ocean Beach: One of the oldest beach towns in San Diego, this area still has the San Diego hippie feel that most areas have lost. If you are looking for a down to earth place to spend the day, and you do not mind loiterers and solicitors, Ocean Beach is the place for you.

San Elijo State Beach: For a surfer's paradise, head up the coast a little way to San Elijo State Beach. Just between Solana Beach and Encinitas in Cardiff by the Sea, this beach is a favorite among local surfers and sunbathers, as well as tourists throughout the summer months.

When it comes to going on a trip, it doesn't hurt to bring along some of these motorhome accessories to make your trip all that more enjoyable. After you have got through this list, you will realize that you probably should have some of this stuff along with you.

1. LCD TV's

Even though you are going out and about, it is always nice to have some digital entertainment to bring along.

2. Awnings & Extra Rooms

These will create an extra room that is outside the motorhome, there are a bunch of different ranges for them, anywhere from a simple over hanging, to a complex room that could be classified as a living room, or dining room.

3. Motorhome Safe Dishes

You'll want something that is not easily broken, because there is a lot of jerking around when it comes to driving a motorhome, at least when your in the city anyways.

4. Mattresses

Anything from standard foam, to memory foam, to even air mattresses, the choice is yours.

5. Outdoor Furniture

This is used to lounge around outside the motorhome when you are parked on the grounds. Make sure to get something comfy, as this might be where you spend most of your time.

6. Toilets

There are a bunch of different kinds of toilets, sure, there is usually one already attached inside, but it doesn't hurt to have a back up, just in case your main one breaks down.

7. Electrical equipment
These are things like: extra lighting, microwaves, toasters, etc

8. Solar Panels

Instead of putting wear on your internal electrical systems, and if you are traveling in the summer, then why not hook up some solar panels for energy, it might cut some costs down for you.

9. Bike Racks

Unless you want to walk or drive everywhere, you had better have a bike rack to bring your bikes with you, This is one of the most bought items when it comes to motorhomes, you always see bikes on the back of coaches all the time.

10. Cooking Equipment

Yes, you already have your stove inside, but what is the fun in that. Why not get some camping stove to cook outside, it'll almost be like a BBQ, and actually you can bring one of those too.

Now that you have read this list, you understand that there are a few things you might just be missing. Sure some of these are luxuries, and you might not NEED them per say, but they would make the trip that much more enjoyable if you did have them.

Top 10 Arizona Travel Tips For a Fun Filled Day Trip With the Kids

There is nothing more rewarding for parents than spending quality time with the kids on a family vacation. Snapping pictures, exploring and discovering new territories while blazing new trails can make for great family fun. After all, isn't that what a family vacation is all about anyway? Just being together, sharing, laughing, talking - creating some of life's most memorable moments. All too often though, the hopes of a rewarding vacation or day trip with the kids can slowly dwindle into a day of frustration and disappointment. The kids get hungry, then they're thirsty, they get tired and cranky, now they want to argue and of course the ever proverbial "are we there yet"...coming from the back seat of the car feels as though it will forever be ringing in your ears. Is this bonding? Well...in a sense - yes.

Certainly, years from now when the kids are grown you can reminisce and laugh about the trials and tribulations of the family vacation and day trips you used to take. But wouldn't it be more rewarding knowing that you can actually have fun with your kids in the present moment! Why wait until they're all grownup to reminisce about the good ol' day trips gone by.

When my family and I take an Arizona vacation or go on a day trip we like to think about bonding with the kids in the present moment. Have fun now, talk with the kids now and share in that hilarious belly laugh now - so that when we all get home we can immediately begin to reminisce about the fun times we had on this family vacation.

No matter where your travels may take you and your family the following travel tips will help get you there with your peace of mind in tack so that you can enjoy all of your wonderful "present moments" with your family.

Advice and Tips for Arizona Travelers and Vacationers:

- Check Your Vehicle: A breakdown could spell disaster for a fun filled day. Whether you are in your own car or a rental, always take a look before you start. Make sure the tires look properly inflated and check the windshield washer fluid. Fill your tank. You can always go to Arizona Day Trails to find out where to buy fuel in Arizona for the least amount of money.

- Pack a Cooler: Purchase a small Styrofoam cooler available in any grocery or convenience store for just a few bucks. Pack it with bottled water and a few light snacks. Avoid sweet drinks because they tend to dehydrate you in the Arizona heat. Water will keep you hydrated and feeling good. Keep a box of crackers and Nilla wafers handy because they are easy on the stomach. And drink plenty of water during your day. Don't wait until you feel thirsty.

- Dress Properly and Comfortably: Flip flops and sandals are great around the hotel or pool, but on your Arizona day trip wear durable, comfortable footwear. Pack some sunscreen and wear hats. It doesn't have to be a Stetson; a baseball cap will do fine. The Arizona desert can get cool in the evening and downright cold at times so keep jackets handy.

- Keep the Kids In the Loop: Rotate seats in the car so everybody gets a window. Let the kids help decide things like where to have lunch and spend time at the things that interest them. When our son was 8 or 9 years old he could spend what seemed like all day observing reptiles and other animals at the various places on our day trips. It wasn't necessarily our idea of heaven but today he is a Biologist preparing for his P.H.D. in Zoology. Who would have guessed? So let the kids pick a place or two to go visit. With a little guidance from you, you may be surprised to find a P.H.D. in your kids too.

- Create Family Memories: Pick up small mementos along the way to remind the kids of the places they've been and the great things they have experienced. You don't have to break the bank. It's the small things that make a difference and are great conversation starters with your kids!

- Take Lots and Lots of Photos: When you get back home and are sitting around with the kids, looking at your photo collection, it will hit you. Arizona is so amazingly beautiful- sometimes it just doesn't sink in until you see it in print.

- Don't Try to Beat the Clock: You can only move as fast as the slowest one in your party. Different size families with kids of various ages travel at different paces. Your family may want to spend more time at one place or another or at one particular activity. Go with the flow and enjoy. Arizona's wonderful places have been around a long time and they will be there tomorrow. Believe me, you and your kids will be happier enjoying the things you get to do than having the day become a nightmare by trying to rush.

- Travel Safe: If you are doing all the driving remember to give your eyes a rest. There are plenty of scenic areas to park and stretch your legs. Take advantage of them. You are going to see some of the most amazing natural beauty on Earth. Take the time to drink it all in. July and August is monsoon season in Arizona and afternoon thunderstorms occur regularly. Be prepared, they usually only last a short time.

- Talk and Laugh a Lot: Talk to one another about the things you are doing and the marvelous sights you are seeing. It's a great time for the kids to use their imagination and express themselves. Listen to them. You will learn things about each other that may surprise you and you will be better off for the experience. Laugh, laugh and laugh some more! Leave your stress and cares behind and have fun. You owe it to yourself and your kids. Life will be waiting when you get home.

- Bend the Rules: Extend bedtimes. Take an evening dip in the hotel pool. Have that extra ice cream cone. Whatever it is that is different from the everyday. Step outside late one night with your kids and look up at the sky. The night sky in Arizona is filled with stars to wish on so get out there and look up! City dwellers will be amazed.

We hope you keep these hints in mind during your visit to Arizona or wherever you and your family may travel. My wife, Ronnie and I have spent over 30 years traveling throughout Arizona and have found these tips to be true for our family. We know they will be true for yours too.

We'll see ya on the trail! And remember to always be good to each other and your mother Earth. Take nothing but photos and leave nothing but footprints.

Get Organized! The Top 5 Mobile Apps in 2010

Mobile devices like Smart Phones and PDA's are exploding in popularity. With this popularity comes millions of apps for every device in varying categories like social networking, games, entertainment and travel, to name a few. Currently the top 5 mobile apps throughout all categories are listed below.

1. Quickoffice.

You can bring the productivity of the classic Microsoft Office suite to your phone. It can open and edit Word and Excel files. It also includes an extensive file viewer that works with PDF files and most image types. The ability to cleanly view PDFs would make a solid app on its own. Combined with its word processing and spreadsheet capabilities, Quickoffice easily makes the list.

2. Franklin Planner.

The physical Franklin Planner binder is a commonly considered a business essential and the industry standard planning system. In the late 90s, it was released for Palm OS, making it one of the oldest and best established mobile apps. It is now available for multiple platforms. For both business and personal planning needs, Franklin Planner remains the gold standard of planners both offline and for smartphones.

3. eBuddy Mobile Messenger.

This program provides an impressive level of connectivity. AOL Instant Messenger, Facebook, Gtalk, ICQ, MSN, MySpace, and Yahoo are all available through this small, gorgeous app. Not only can you chat while on the go, you are able to connect to all of your networks at once within a single program. That is enough to make it feel like this mobile app is more powerful than desktop applications! They have a web version for those who need their multi-network chat fix at their home computer.

4. Google Mobile.

This suite is a great example of why Google dominates the online marketplace. Google Mobile puts Gmail, Google Maps, and YouTube in your pocket. With three essential web services direct to your phone, Google shows that they understand what their consumers demand. Be careful with the YouTube usage unless you have an unlimited data plan. Video bandwidth can quickly eat through a limited usage allowance.

5. Opera Mini.

With all of the other app choices, it is easy to overlook basics like web browsing. Every Smart Phone owner should use Opera Mini. It is a compact, well-coded browser that runs quickly and puts all of the current default browsers to shame. It compresses all the pages through Opera's dedicated servers. This is great for websites that do not have a mobile version or that you want to see in full version. You see the page as other visitors would. The compression is very efficient and can help you save big on data usage. Opera Mini is the hands down king of mobile apps.

All Inclusive Florida Vacations 2010

Florida is always a hot spot, no matter what time of year it is. If you're looking to head to Florida, I want to show you how you can find the best All-inclusive Florida vacations. There are a lot of them out there, but make sure that you know where to search.

The first thing that you want to do is make sure that you know where you want to go. By limiting the cities, you're going to find that it's going to be a lot easier to find what you're looking for. For example, if you want to go to Disney World, then you will most likely want to stay in the surrounding Orlando area.

Next, most people don't know about this, but you can search on major travel websites online. What you will that there are options that you can search for such as all-inclusive. Input your city, state what you want, and see what you can get. Remember that all-inclusive vacations aren't all created equally. What I mean by that is that some are going to give you free drinks, while others give you free drinks, but no alcoholic drinks.

The last thing that I would recommend is that you head to travel deals sites such as TravelZoo and others. What you're going to find here is that they will recommend hot spots that you can get for a very cheap price. Search around and see what you can find. You may find that by booking at the last minute, it's going to save you a lot of money.

Aruba Travel Facts - Five Things to Know Before You Go

Your vacation to Aruba is only two months away and you're busy planning for your trip. While you are really looking forward to your trip there are some nagging questions for which you wish you had answers. Here are the most common questions we get based on feedback from our readers;

1. Can I use my cell phone in Aruba? In almost all cases the answer is yes. Aruba has good cell phone service across the island and your phone will work in most locations. Keep in mind that you may need to have your cell phone carrier in your home country enable your phone for international use. Here are a couple of key things to remember - using your cell phone in ANY country outside of your home country is normally very expensive and Aruba is no different. If you have a data plan for your phone and want to check your e-mail this is even more true. Be VERY careful when you use your phone for calling while in Aruba. We suggest turning your data service OFF while you are in Aruba. You can check your e-mail from your computer in your room or in one of the Internet Cafes in Aruba. It will be significantly cheaper!

2. Will my electrical appliances work in Aruba? If you are from North America the answer is yes - Aruba uses US-standard 110vac 60Hz electric service and outlets. Travelers from Europe will need the appropriate adapters for their appliances, computers, etc.

3. Is it easy to get around in Aruba? This certainly depends where you will be on the island but the answer in most cases is yes - very easy. Aruba's taxi service is very good - the Taxi drivers are courteous and they keep their cars in very good shape. If you are staying in the high-rise or low-rise hotel areas you will find a bus route that runs from the California Lighthouse to Oranjestad. The cost is very reasonable and the service is punctual. You'll feel comfortable taking the bus once you've experienced it your fist time.

4. Is there crime in Aruba? There are several Caribbean islands that have a difficult time with crime, fortunately crime in Aruba is minimal in comparison. Aruba's crime rate is low thanks in-part to the efforts of the government there to provide basic services to all citizens. This does not mean that you do not have to be careful however - always use caution and common sense when traveling on the island. In the evening, stay out of neighborhoods that are outside the normal tourist areas. Don't leave valuables alone on the beach while you are there - the beaches are open to all on the island and unattended valuables may not be safe.

5. What is the immigration and customs process when visiting Aruba? With the exception of key travel days getting into Aruba and out of Aruba is a very easy process. The airport has been expanded and resources provided by the government to keep delays at a minimum. When you get to Aruba you'll first need to go through Immigration. There is a form you must fill-out before entering the country. You will be given part of the form back to keep and present when you leave the country. After Immigration you'll pick-up your baggage if you've checked bags then go through Customs. In most cases you are welcomed and waved through with a smile.

Now you have some basic knowledge to prepare you for your trip to Aruba. It's a great country to visit and we're sure you'll have a wonderful time!

The Top Home Based Business Idea in 2010 - Here it Is!

What is the top home based business idea in 2010?

There are many home based business ideas floating around all over the internet. Many of them are legitimate, but for every legitimate program you find, there are 10 dishonest people selling products that they definitely wouldn't sell to their mother.

It bothers me that so many dishonest people are trying to prey on new online marketers, but unfortunately that is just how the world works these days. It shouldn't be like that, which is why in this article I want to share with you the top home based business idea in 2010, and show you how you can make money with it in 2010, 2011, 2012, and beyond!

The top home based business for 2010 is not new, because chances are something new is just a fad that does not have any track record of success! In this article I am going to discuss a concrete and legitimate business model that I have been using since 2008 to earn a nice income online.

What is this business model you ask? Well it involves selling other people's stuff online, and getting paid a commission for each sale. Before you stop reading, I know right now what you are probably thinking: Either you don't want to sell products because you think you may have to store physical goods in your home and office, or you don't want to sell anything because you do not want to sell to people face to face.

The business model I use is commonly referred to as affiliate marketing, and since I am going to show you how to sell items that can be digitally downloaded, you will never have to talk to a customer, personally take an order, or stock any sort of inventory whatsoever!

When I first heard about affiliate marketing I thought that it was too good to be true. I mean who wouldn't want to sell products and services, have a third-party company process all of the orders for you, and get paid 50-75% commissions on digital products!

I think you are beginning to see why this is without a doubt the top home based business idea in 2010. I do want to be completely honest with you however, and tell you that in order to set things up correctly you are going to have to learn some new skills with regards to internet marketing.

Working online is much like owning an offline store. In order to get people to purchase the digital products that you are offering as an affiliate marketer, you must get people to see your offers. This is the same as getting customers in your "store" to buy products and services. If you owned a restaurant you would need hungry people to come eat in order to make money, right? The same is true if you want to be successful with the top home based business idea in 2010.

In order to attract online consumers to your offer, you are going to have to use a variety of marketing methods. Since affiliate marketing is 100% free to start, you can focus any money that you want to spend (you don't have to spend a dime if you do not want to) on generating "traffic," or customers to your website or blog where you will promote your product.

You will need a blog to get started, but setting up a blog is very easy, even if you have no technical skills. When I first started marketing online all I could do was check emails, but after watching a few YouTube videos I was able to design a free blog using blogger (free blog service offered by Google) in no time!

After you have set up your blog (Part 1 of the top home based business idea in 2010) you must get people to view your blog, where you will link to your affiliate product! Instead of telling you how to do it, let's use the example method to clarify things.

For instance, let's say that I found a golf product that I want to sell. It is a digitally downloadable book (e-book), and I need to get people to my blog where I am selling this product. In order to get traffic to your blog, you could:

Write articles and submit them to article directories.

Create short videos and upload them to YouTube.

Post classified ads on golf websites.

Post a link to your blog in golf forums (don't SPAM!).

Using a combination of these methods, you can start seeing hundreds of people coming to your blog daily, and some of them will buy the product that you are selling!

I know this may all seem new and overwhelming, but I truly believe that affiliate marketing is the top home based business idea in 2010, because I have been using it successfully for almost 2 years! If you want to make money online, then you are going to have to sell something. Selling digital products (software, ebooks, etc.) is the easiest way because:

You do not have to store anything.

Products are already created, so you do not have to create or invent anything yourself!

You can receive up to 75% commissions from popular affiliate networks (I use ClickBank).

You don't have to process refunds.

You get paid every 2 weeks consistently (with ClickBank).

I have no problem telling people that affiliate marketing is the top home based business idea in 2010, because I truly believe that. If you want to start your own home based business, then choosing a reliable, web based business model is the way to go. Affiliate marketing will help you reach your goals, you just have to figure out exactly how to do it!

Do you want to see how I do it?

Top 3 Reasons to Use a Travel Agent

Why should I use a travel agent to book my trip instead of booking it myself on the internet? This is a question I had to answer recently for a potential client with whom I was speaking to for the first time. As a travel professional, I get this type of question a lot.

In this article I will reveal to you how I answered this question and how you can benefit from using the services of a professional travel agent versus booking your own travel online using a travel search engine.

1. Save time.

Sure you can spend hours, days, even months researching destinations and going from website to website in order to plan your own travel itinerary, but why would you want to do that? Time is a precious commodity that we can never get back. While you are spending all this time doing research and going from website to website to see if you can get a better deal, you could have more easily picked up the phone to have a travel agent do this research for you.

Professional travel agents are trained to do this because it's their job. A travel professional can do all the research, coordinate all the logistics, and put together a complete itinerary for your trip in a fraction of the time you can do it for yourself.

2. Use the agent's knowledge and resources.

Travel agents are trained travel professionals. It's their job to know the ins and outs of popular travel destinations. Although there is a ton of information on the internet readily available to the public, travel professionals have first-hand knowledge of many or most of the destinations you may choose to visit.

Secondly, travel professionals often have resources to inventory, special offers, and discounts available only to travel professionals to offer their clients. By using an agent, you'll be able to take advantage of these resources.

3. The travel agent advocates for you should something go wrong on your trip.

Let's say you have booked a flight and hotel online on one of the highly-advertised travel sites. Bingo! You're all set. Or are you?

You check your confirmation and realize that you booked the wrong date. So you call customer service and you wait and wait; then finally you get a customer service representative who then tells you that there's a fee to change your reservation. Okay so you pay the fee, after all you don't have much of a choice.

The day comes for you to catch your flight. You get to your destination, but your luggage does not. The airline has lost one of your bags. So you're stuck again with a problem, and call customer service again. You get to your hotel to rest from your long day, and find that your hotel room isn't ready. Here you go again.

Now I'm not implying that a travel agent could have prevented all of this, but as a member of the travel industry, travel agents have special relationships with travel vendors. A complaint call or letter from a travel agent is more likely to get an expedited response than a letter from you, because of the agent's relationship with the travel vendor.

I know what you're thinking. You think that you'll pay more to use a travel agent. It's an incorrect assumption to think that using the services of a travel agent will be more expensive than booking your own travel online. Although some agents charge a service, the benefits of using a professional travel agent far outweigh the risks of not using an agent.

Top 5 Basic Things to Consider When Choosing a Travel Agent For Traveling to Antarctica

Travelers planning a trip must perform due diligence with the task of choosing a dependable travel agent. This becomes crucial when the planned trip is to Antarctica. The harsh and unpredictable weather as well as remote and inhospitable geographical conditions of the region demand that experienced and capable people handle the affairs of an expedition be it by air or sea.

Choosing a dependable travel agent is a tricky job as there are a dismayingly large number of travel agencies out there. Anyone with a little knowledge of Internet ticket booking and awareness of travel destinations can set up a travel agency. It is hard to expect quality and dependable service even from registered travel agencies as the registration process is simple and doesn't require much more than filling out a simple form and paying some fees. Airliners and cruise liners affiliations are also meaningless. Let the lure of visiting the White Continent not make you overlook some basic factors in choosing a travel agent. If I were traveling to Antarctica these are the things I would be concentrating on for selecting a travel agent.

Reputation

This is the prime consideration while choosing a travel agent. Usually, the more reputable a travel agency the better is its service. Ascertain whether it's lower cost or quality service that makes a particular travel agent special. Your target is clearly reputation based on the dependability of service. Cheap and best are not applicable always. You don't drive the cheapest car, don't wear the cheapest dress, and don't eat out in the cheapest restaurant. So why choose a travel agent that specializes in providing cheap services. You are going to Antarctica, remember. Everything should be top notch. You should concentrate on getting that. Getting better rates becomes secondary to getting top equipment, facilities, and services.

People assume that the longer a travel agency is in business the better will be the quality of their service. This is purely a common assumption and there are no statistics to support this. Not how long has the travel agency been in service, but how well is it serving travelers now should be the question uppermost in your mind. The fact is that there are many old travel agencies on the verge of running out of business and there are many new travel agencies offering better services with newer and appropriate policies. Reputed, experienced, and efficient should be the preferred criteria of your choice. Equally important is to choose tour operators that specialize in expeditions to ice covered lands like the Arctic and Antarctica.

Check with Friends, Clients, and Suppliers

The best opinions that you can get are from trusted friends and associates that have traveled to Antarctica. If you can tolerate a little exaggeration or understatement you will get honest opinions from them. However, don't take a single emphatic recommendation as final. Check and verify with others about any recommendation. Find from the recommended travel agent if they are giving any benefits to clients for bringing in referrals. Make sure that your friend has not referred you mainly to earn benefits for himself.

Get a list of existing clients and suppliers from the travel agent to verify its claims. Find out how the travel agency performs on a bad day. Be careful as it's natural on the part of a supplier to say only positive things about a travel agent if the latter is the former's client. You should contact a reliable and reputable supplier to establish the truth whether or not the travel agent does business with it. Clients can better testify about the veracity of the claims made by a tour operator. Get an exhaustive list of clients so that the travel agent will not know which ones you are going to contact. If you are taking the contact address of a few clients then contact them right away so that the travel agent gets no time to tutor clients and dress up testimonies.

Dependable Team

The competencies and expertise of the expedition team are crucial to an Antarctic expedition. In the unending stretch of ice and cold water you have only them to ensure your safety. A dependable team should comprise of at least one veteran captain having several expedition experiences, expert sailors, environmentalists, geologists familiar with the topography of the continent and specializing in glaciology, oceanographers, marine biologists, polar scientists, and polar educators. It's essential for all the above people to have previous Antarctic expedition experience. Make sure that the team has all the qualification and experience to make your expedition a safe and enjoyable one.

Sturdy Ship

Special attention must be paid for the kind of ship the travel agent is going to put you on and the team that will lead the expedition. The ship must be in top condition. It must have all the latest communication tools as well as expedition equipment. Find out how well the ship can cope with disaster?

Ask the travel agent about which cruise liners are listed in their agency and how many voyages the cruise liners have made to Antarctica? The more successful voyages made by a cruise liner the better - the rule is simple. Is your travel agency offering good ice breaking ships or ice strengthening cruises? If you are more adventurous you should prefer the ice breaking cruises as they will take you to places that just ice strengthened ships cannot take. Ask the tour operator what kind of logistics the ships offer (zodiacs and helicopters). What kind of gear and equipment do they make available on the ship? Will the ship have qualified guides, naturalists, geologists, and sailors to make the expedition safe and successful?

Some More Questions to Ask the Tour Operators

There are expeditions led by people that have explored the entire Antarctic. Your expedition can benefit immensely from the knowledge of such people. Find out whether the tour operators are members of International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators (IAATO). IAATO is a private body, which has laid down the rules to be followed by tour operators while going to Antarctica and about conduct on the continent.

Ask the travel agent this precious question, "what service they offer which any other agents do not or cannot offer"? Compare the results and answers of the travel agents and go for the most reliable one.

If you plan to fly over part of Antarctica then find out from the tour operator whether the pilot and crew members have previous flying experience to the continent. Some travel agencies make sure that the captain of the airplane has flown to Antarctica at least once before.

These are just five basic factors that you should consider when selecting a travel agent for an expedition to Antarctica. There are more things that you should take into account while doing the due diligence in this regard. Look up on the Internet and guidebooks to cover all the aspects to make sure that you have taken utmost care in selecting a travel agent. Do not always trust what is posted in forums without cross checking. For that matter trust advise or information only when they come from an authentic and reputed source. Cross check them to be absolutely sure. Have a safe and happy voyage.

Hottest IT Certifications - 2010

Last year I released an article on the hottest certs for 2009. The amount of readers is indicative that we are still faced with confusion. I am adamant in telling the student/ IT professional to look at relevance. One should ask:

1. Is it relevant to my present job?
2. Which company is offering the certification? Of course one can never go wrong with Microsoft, Cisco, HP, Planet 3.
3. What is the demand now and in the future?

The Gartner Group recently released their top ten technologies for 2010. At the helm is Cloud Computing followed by Advanced Analytics. Also included in the top ten are Client Computing, IT for Green, Social Computing, Flash Memory, Security and Virtualization. I tend to agree with the number one selection keeping in mind that Clouding is tied to virtual technology. My number one recommendation for hottest certification would therefore be VCP offered by VMWare. Though costly, it is going to be the most sought after qualification in 2010. VMWare will also be offering an advanced certification, the VMWare Certified Design Expert.

Green IT is a dark horse in this IT race. Again this cert is tied to virtualization. Companies are paying attention to sustainability and cost savings. Symantec's vice president of global solutions recently stated, "perhaps in the past Green IT was a wish list item, it's now essential for almost all companies we surveyed". One major driving factor for the interest in Green is electricity conservation. Some companies are paying as much as $21 to $27 million per year for electricity use. There are certifications being offered by organizations like Green Building Certification Institute (LEED); Cisco; IBM. Unfamiliar terminology like Green Datacenters is now being tossed around. My second choice for hot certs would therefore be GREEN.

Social Computing, and the booming of Web 2.0 has propelled network security even further. Facebook, Digg, MySpace, wikis, blogs, all need to addressed in todays work environment. Certifications that will continue to be in demand are Security +( a brilliant start for a security career), CISSP, MCSE Security, CheckPoint's CCSE, Cisco's CCSP and CWSP offered by Planet 3. My recommendation to potential students is to package an IT security cert with your qualifications.

Though we are witnessing a change in requests for certified professionals one should not forget the oldies. Microsoft has made a major play with the release of their 64bit Windows 2008 server. This certification will not go away. The Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician is great for the beginner and may be packaged with CompTIA's Network +. MCSE Messaging is also in great demand. A quick browse through dice.com or itjobs.com will reinforce the sentiment that Red Hat Linux is a moneymaker (RHCE 302). Software-as a-Service (SaaS) is another innovative technology that is sweeping through the IT world. I hope that one have identified the effect of virtualization. I read an article recently where the authored stated "want to travel the word? Get a virtualization cert! I concur!

Career changers, not to be left out, should focus on developing a strong understanding of networking technology. I recommend a class that teaches the theory of data communications. The CompTIA Network + is a great class. Cisco's CCNA is a highly marketable cert for the beginner and will place the serious learner in some great environments.

Specializations is another way in. Mobility is the rage, so Blackberry and any Messaging Certification is well worth the time. A strong understanding of Active Directory, Exchange, Group Policy can be rewarding. Today's Health Industry is fully computerized. Security and Compliance certs are also in demand. All in all, I can go on and on with certs and their value. Basically it comes down to relevance and to a great extent, what you enjoy. There is a certification that is suited to every professional. With some ground work, you'll find it. Press on!

Project Management is woefully in need. Two certs come to mind, PMI's Project Management Professional and the CAPM. This exam requires an extensive amount of skill and experience, but the financial reward, $101,000, as per ZDNet is enticing. I have identified a great demand for Microsoft Dynamics. Though I am not informed about this qualification, there is demand for CRM professionals. At this point I will mention one technology that I believe will definitely catch on with time, and that is WiMAX. Verizon and AT&T are both working on this technology and I believe we will soon see certs being offered.

My list of top ten certs would look like this:- (Experienced)

1.VMWare VCP
2. Cisco's Cloud Computing
3. MCSE -Security
4. Cisco's CCIE Security
5. SQL
6. MCITP
7. RHCE
8. Green IT
9. CWSP
10.anything Citrix

My recommendation for the career changer would be:- ( Beginner)

1. Network +
2. MCDST
3. Security+
4.CompTIA A+
5. MCTS Exam 70-620 Configuring Vista
6. Installing & Configuring Windows 7
7. CWNA
8. CWSP
9. Microsoft Excel
10.MCITP 70-646 Windows Server Administration
6. CCNA

My recommendation to the independents ( self employed consulting)

1. Microsoft Small Business Server
2. SharePoint
3. ITIL v2
4. LMS
5. Windows Server 2003/2008.

Hope For Homeowners - Top 5 Frequently Asked Questions For March 2010

Hope for Homeowners continues to be the flag ship program the Federal Government is using to help distressed homeowners. Since it has gone into effect October 1, 2008 to this date, March 2010. Only a fraction of the homeowners have been helped in comparison to the number of homeowners projected.

Why? Banks continuing to hold onto the lending approval reins tighter than most people anticipated. More Government red tape than predicted and a housing and job market in the doldrums longer than expected. These are all factors contributing to the less than stellar performance of the Hope for Homeowners Program.

However, we still continue to receive questions at a fast clip from our savvy readers on this latest Federal Housing Rescue bill. Here's the top 5 frequently asked questions for the month of March 2010. Hopefully the answers as well as the questions will give you a clearer view of this latest program.

Note: Questions have been edited for the purpose of brevity and clarity.

1. What Is the Hope For Homeowner Program?

Congress created The Hope for Homeowners program to help homeowners in danger of default and foreclosure. The program is designed to help the homeowner refinance into a more affordable loan. For example, a 30 year fixed rate, as well as a lower monthly payment.

2. What's The Homeowner Obligated To Do To Be Approved?

A. The homeowner pays a 3 percent upfront mortgage insurance premium and a 1.5 percent yearly premium.
B. They agree to sharing any equity accumulated during ownership with the Government.
C. Homeowner is not allowed to have any junior liens against the home outside of property maintenance or improvement.

3. How Do Lenders Determine My Eligibility?

The existing mortgage was originated on or before January 1, 2008. Existing mortgage payment(s) as of March 1, 2008 exceeds 31 percent of the borrowers gross monthly income. The homeowner did not intentionally default, does not have an ownership interest in other residential real estate and has not been convicted of fraud in the last 10 years under Federal and state law. The homeowner did not provide false information (e.g., lied about income) to obtain the mortgage that is being refinanced.

4. What Happens If I Decide To Sell My Home After I'm In The Program?

If you sell your home, you'll use the money to pay first pay off the Hope For Homeowners Mortgage. After that you'll pay the shared equity and shared appreciation amounts if any.

5. As A Homeowner, How Can I Get Help?

Here's the quickest ways you can get help:

1. Contact your current lender to see if they're participating in the program and to see if you qualify.
2. Contact a H.U.D counselor to see if they can help you find a lender who is participating in the program.

These are the questions many people wanted to know about this latest Government rescue plan. Stay tuned, we'll keep you informed on the ongoing changes, updates and improvements as they happen.

Norman Doray and Albin Myers Feat Antoine Becks Drink & Dial

The latest Red Stick release, Drink N Dial by Dorman Doray & Albin Meyers featuring Antoine Becks is the culmination of fortuitous set of happenings. All three talents are relative newcomers to the scene. Doray began producing in 2006, Meyers barely a year ago, and Becks became making waves in the House scene in 2006, having done vocals for Sharams massive hit Party All The Time. When DJs and producers travel the Globe playing the best venues like Fu** Me Im Famous with David Guetta, Dark Forest with the Swedish House Mafia, Papaya club (Croatia), Warehouse Tokyo, Set Club Miami, Sankeys Manchester and many others, paths cross and destinies unites. And as it happens the time was right for studio fun for these guys. This Summer Doray and Meyers decided to collaborate and the result was Drink N Dial. The project was originally a banging instrumental and was already generating noise in its own right. Then it was decided to add some vocal heat in the form of Antoine Becks, taking the project over the top. Henrik B adds his remix touch to make the complete package a peak hour killer. Look out 2010. Theres some new ripe talent and its harvest time!

Pokemon Movie 13-Ruler of Illusion:Zoroark Trailer 2 (Subtitled) [1080p HD]

This is my THIRD attempt at uploading this, each attempt taking two and a half hours. I`ve re-typed this discription so many times now, so all I have to say this time is that I`ll completely subtitle this trailer with annotations, and I`ll make a hardsub of it when a cleaner version is released on the official website. This is also another attempt at 1080p, which will hopefully work, since this took WAY too long to upload. Feel free to comment/and or ask questions. Enjoy! EDIT:Well, now that I`m not as impatient since it uploaded sucessfully this time, I suppose I`ll add my theory about the movie`s current plot here. Anyway, in the first trailer, the Legendary Beasts were shown to be taking action in a time Celebi arrived at after travelling to the future, Celebi then proceeded to head to a city very reminiscent of Crown City`s current appearance. In this trailer, Zorua is shown in a forest, with Celebi opening a "Time Warp" very close to it. This is an important aspect. Anyway, presumably, Satoshi, Takeshi, and Hikari are in Crown City. Celebi happens to appear in this city, where the Legendary Beasts, Suicune, Raikou, and Entei are "taking action', destroying the town. This may be the expanded version of the short scene from the first trailer I mentioned above. Anyway, Celebi is chased, and as it is, a flash of light indicated Zorua has arrived. Judging from the colour and nature of the "Time Warp", and how they showed it in the 4th Movie, I`m assuming that Zorua went ...

Brazilian Carnaval - Rio de Janeiro, Local Block Party.

The people from Bahia, are known in Brazil as those who most love parties. Almost every event is reason for a party, which should last as long as possible. Baianos do not deny this fame. The Brazilian carnival had strong influence from the Africans, All the samba schools in Rio must have a block composed only of baianas, women from Bahia. So, it is not a surprise that Salvador has one of the best carnivals in Brazil. According to Guinness, with 2000000 people (including 800000 tourists), Salvador has the largest street carnival in the WORLD. While in Rio most of the carnival happens in ball-rooms and in the Sambadrome (which require people to pay to participate), in Salvador most events happen in the streets and beaches, and are free for all. As a consequence, the carnival in Salvador goes on, non-stop, for nearly ten days. Small groups called "blocos" pop up everywhere in the city, and they are soon followed by locals and tourists. A tradition of the carnival in Salvador are the "trios eletricos" (electric trio). Back in 1950, two persons, Dodo and Osmar (who today are legends of Brazilian carnival), put high power speakers on top of a Ford 1929 and drove around town inviting people to follow the rythm; it was a massive success. In 1951, the electric duo was joined by Temistocles Aragao, and the first Trio Eletrico was formed. Ever since, several trios were formed in Bahia, with much more sound power, on top of much bigger trucks; to follow a trio eletrico, just join the ...
