Entry from: Ruteng, Indonesia Entry Title: "Ruteng" Entry: "Arrived in the city of Ruteng in Flores yesterday evening. Got a room in the Rima hotel which looks a little bit like a swiss cottage. The walls seem to be so thin, that you think the other people are in your bathroom or will break through the ceiling at any moment. For 100000rp it's ok, although I should've taken the room for 75000rp with the toilet and shower outside. But after that boattrip I really wanted a room with a shower although the water here is damn cold. Ruteng is at around 1500m surrounded by an active vulcano. The city is not really beautiful, but the surrounding rice terasses are worth a view. I took a long walk round the countryside, up a hill where after every turn a holy picture was showing the story of Jesus carrying the cross up until he was taken off the cross (at the top of the hill). On the top there's a big shrine showing a status of Maria. After that I went looking for a waterfall which was supposed to be 6km further down the road. I got to see some spectacular views of the rice fields and indonesian dschungle and all the locals and kiddies coming up saying "Hello Mister" and being really astonished when I answered in Baha Indonesia. Went cross country through the dschungle and open fields until a bemo (bus) picked ...

Governments around the world should follow the Chinese approach to tourism, according to the UNWTO Ministers Summit which took place this morning at World Travel Market. Taleb Rifai, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), said: "China is seeing the benefits from giving tourism a very high priority within government. It is an example other countries should try to follow." More than 150 tourism ministers and aides attended the Summit. Qiwei Shao. Chairman of the China National Tourism Administration, said that the Chinese government started to listen when he was able to show that 109 other sectors were involved in tourism. Some 15 million people are employed directly in tourism, with another 85 million indirectly employed. The importance of tourism generally varies across the globe. John Penrose, Minister of Tourism of the UK pointed out that he is the first dedicated tourism minister the UK has had; Italy and Argentina have both upgraded the importance of tourism within the structure of their government. Mexico's tourism minister, Gloria Guevara, said that tourism was a priority for the country, which wanted to become one of the world's top five destinations. It is already in the top ten. Best friends Mikan and Hotaru grew up in a small town in the remote countryside. When Hotaru moves to a school for geniuses in Tokyo, Mikan misses Hotaru so badly that she decides to travel to Tokyo herself to find Hotaru. She finds Hotaru in a school called "Alice Academy," and finds that the school is actually for people with special powers called "Alices." Narumi-sensei, a teacher at the school, discovers that Mikan also happens to have an Alice, and Mikan is admitted into the academy. At first, she becomes enemies with a boy named Natsume with a fire alice but later Mikan made friends with him (Natsume). She also befriends his best friend, Luca. There she finds friends, love, and a life that she will never forget. However, during that time, Mikan (along with her friends) find out that the academy is really built on both secrets and lies.
